Primary and Secondary Relief Teaching Opportunities

Our modern, well equipped campus is located on the north side of Brisbane with an enrolment of over 1500 students from Prep to Year 12.

We are calling for applications from passionate and highly motivated Primary and Secondary Teachers to join our relief teaching list. Newly qualified graduate teachers welcome to apply! We have opportunities from Prep through to Year 12 commencing Term 1 2022.

To be successful, you will have:

  • QCT Registration (or eligibility)
  • Familiarity with the QCAA syllabuses
  • Evidence of innovative classroom practices
  • A high standard of competency and proficiency as a classroom / subject teacher
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the integration of technology in the delivery of learning
  • Demonstrated understanding of how students learn through effective classroom teaching strategies and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, critical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work proactively within a collaborative teaching team
  • Ability to teach Primary
  • An active Christian faith

PA to the Principal – Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Personal Assistant to provide high-level executive and administrative support to our Principal. This position is essential in assisting our Principal on a day to day basis by providing efficient, professional administrative support. As an employee at Genesis, you will be contributing to an exceptional learning environment that promotes the strong aims of an Independent Christian school.  

You will be responsible for:   

  • Well prioritised planning and efficient administrative and secretarial support 
  • Managing the Principals calendar, providing alerts in relation to College events, appointments and other commitments 
  • Receiving, reading and evaluating communications and bringing routine and complex matters to attention and responding accordingly oordinating meetings including preparation of agenda and minute taking 
  • Organising key College events and celebrations  
  • Maintaining and building strong relationships with students, staff and parents  

 To be successful, you will have: 

  • Demonstrated experience as an Executive Assistant to a senior member of an organisation, preferably within the Education sector 
  • High level administration skills and attention to detail 
  • Intermediate to Advanced Computer Skills across the Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently on a range of projects and tasks, both collaboratively and independently 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence  
  • High level of discretion, loyalty and commitment to maintain utmost confidentiality and maintain privacy requirements 
  • Ability to negotiate solutions, meet deadlines, handle complex workloads, problem solve and remain ‘unflustered’ under pressure; 
  • Current Blue Card or eligibility to apply
  • An active Christian faith and strong Christian character

In addition, excellent communication skills and diplomacy are essential in this role, along with the ability to carry out all duties with initiative, accuracy and integrity whilst observing the protocols and traditions of a large, vibrant school. You will be welcoming, alert and proactive in liaising with staff, parents and the wider community. Formal qualifications in administration will be highly regarded.

College Accountant

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to perform various accounting and administration practices to ensure the College and its subsidiary organisations’ financial, human and physical resources are effectively managed, reconciled and accounted for in order to fulfil the requirements of the relevant Acts, Regulations and Standards and organisational requirements of the College. As an employee at Genesis, you will be contributing to an exceptional learning environment that promotes the strong aims of an Independent Christian school. 

You will be responsible for:   

  • Developing and maintaining Accounting Policies and Procedures  
  • Ensuring best practice accounting and control over all income received and expenditure in the College and its subsidiary organisations 
  • Managing accounts and performing monthly reconciliations and other related accounting tasks, including highlighting any issues or variances requiring attention and preparing BAS returns 
  • Ensuring accurate financial records are kept with all aspects and types of funding and plan accordingly, and monitor cash flow position 
  • Overseeing and ensuring payment of salaries, PAYG, Superannuation, Salary Packaging and FBT and maintain staff payroll records, including annual leave, sick leave, long service leave and superannuation 
  • Preparing group tax reconciliations, payroll returns (including Single Touch Payroll) and payroll reconciliations
  • Assisting families with managing their school fee accounts, oversee the direct debit system, follow up with reminders for outstanding fees and collect monies owing, including monitoring robust privacy provisions for families 

To be successful, you will have: 

  • Bachelor degree in Business / Accounting  
  • Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered   Accountant is advantageous 
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience in operating and maintaining computerised accounting systems and procedures 
  • High level administration skills and attention to detail 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence  
  • High level of discretion, loyalty and commitment to maintain utmost confidentiality and maintain privacy requirements 
  • Current Blue Card or eligibility to apply

Cook (School Canteen)

Full Time – Term Time

We are seeking an experienced Cook to assist our Chef in the running of our state-of-the-art Canteen facility, Eden Eats. Commencing as soon as possible, this position will be Full Time, Monday – Friday (Term Time). No shift work and all school holidays off!! As an employee at Genesis, you will be contributing to an exceptional learning environment that promotes the strong aims of an Independent Christian school.

Reporting to the Chef you will be responsible for:  

  • Food preparation whilst adhering to food hygiene and OH&S
  • Kitchen cleaning including pot washing and heavy cleaning duties
  • Maintaining a clean work / service environment
  • Accuracy in handling money using a Point of Sale system
  • Maintaining a strong relationship with students, teachers and parents

To be successful, you will need:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to be flexible and reprioritise tasks
  • A professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Initiative and enjoy problem solving
