Year 12 2018 – Outcomes Report

Recently the QCAA released the Year 12 Outcomes Report , available on the QCAA website.

This report contains a range of Year 12 outcome information for each school in Queensland. The data includes the number of students receiving an OP (Overall Position), the number of students receiving different OP bands and a range of other statistics including certificate level qualifications earned.

In 2018 Genesis Christian College performed very well with results indicating positive and pleasing trends:

  • 115 students achieved their QCE
  • 81% of students (94) in the cohort were OP eligible
  • with 22% of our students receiving an OP 1-5
  • 32% in the OP 6-10 range
  • 35% in the OP 11-15 range
  • 11% in the 16-20 range, which indicates a positive and pleasing trend.

Congratulations to Daniel Butcher who received an OP1 and was recently acknowledged for placing  in the top 30 students in Queensland for his OP result.

A number of our students also experienced success with achieving Vocational Education Training qualifications chosen to meet their individual pathway needs.

Cohort statistics are of understandable interest and are typically reported and compared following the release of this data and while they provide some information about the nature and performance of the cohort, they provide little information regarding a myriad of other characteristics which the College fosters and values.

We consider our students to have been successful if they have achieved their potential, have moved to their preferred post-school pathway.

Eighty students applied through QTAC for tertiary study and all received an offer, 50 of which were to their first preference.

Our 2018 cohort have exhibited good Christian character in their relationships with self and others.

We congratulate this 2018 cohort on their results and wish them God’s grace as they over forward into the next stage of their post-school lives.
