1987

A group of visionary Christians from the Reformed Church of Stafford formed The North Brisbane Christian Schools Association (NBCSA) and Board representatives were elected

1989

Land was purchased at Youngs Crossing Road, Bray Park. The Reformed Church of Stafford relocated there and became known as Oasis Church (formerly Bray Park Community Church)

1991

Genesis Christian College officially opened with 35 Year 1 – 7 students who were temporarily schooled in the church (and two second hand demountables). Mr Bob Van Veen, the founding Principal, and Miss Jane Nyhouse (now Mrs Eyles) were the first teachers

1996

Mrs Lynne Doneley was appointed as principal

1998

The first secondary (Year 8) school students began.

2002

The first Year 12 cohort graduated.

2007

Principal Mr Brian Barker, was appointed.

2007

Opening of the impressive architecturally designed building, The Robert Schoenmaker Library.

2008

Opening of a two-storey Administration Building, which centralised the business and managerial areas of the College

2008

Little Genesis, an early learning centre, was built and established

2010

Opening of our Main Auditorium, Dance & Music Rehearsal Rooms

2012

Opening of a new Upper Primary School and swimming pool complex

2013

The College’s business structure changed to Genesis Christian College Ltd.

2014

Opening of the Science Centre

2018

Opening of ‘B Block’

2019

Retirement of Principal, Mr Brian Barker.

2020

Mr Paul Sterling commences as Principal of Genesis Christian College.

Opening of the impressive new STEM Building.

2021

Opening of the new open plan Learning Village – Primary Year 2 classrooms

2022

Opening of the new open plan Learning Village – Primary Year 3 classrooms


Today the College stands proudly as a testament to the faith and pioneering spirit of the members of the Reformed Church of Stafford and College families who laid the solid spiritual and physical foundations on which the College is built.
