New Building Announcement
I am pleased to announce that despite a very busy staffing year, we have designed our next two-storey building!
The building will consist of:
- four classrooms
- a learning support and learning enrichment facility; and
- a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) facility.
This building is due to commence construction in 2019. It will be located between the Science Centre and the Industrial Technology Centre and will occupy about two thirds of the grassed area in front of the Science and Performance Centre. It will also connect the Science Centre with the Industrial Technology building. Other design elements include extending the walkway outside the new B Block to create a more usable undercover area for secondary students.
This is an exciting new building which will certainly enhance the learning opportunities for many students. While we have not been officially notified of the exact amount of capital funding we are to receive, we are quietly confident it will be significant. We received excellent feedback earlier this year when we presented our project and rationale to the Block Grant Authority.
Given the location of the construction site there will be considerable disruption to contend with next year. We will provide details once we know construction dates and site restrictions
